Job description

Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant will provide essential administrative assistance to the HR department, facilitating the daily execution of HR programs and services. This role supports critical HR operations such as managing attendance and payroll data, maintaining employee records, supporting recruitment efforts, and generating HR reports, all while ensuring processes comply with company policies and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly reviews of time and attendance records, making necessary payroll adjustments and calculating hours worked.
  • Keep precise employee attendance logs and personnel files up to date.
  • Coordinate with temporary staffing agencies concerning staffing needs and placements.
  • Support employee relations by preparing confidential documentation as needed.
  • Generate HR reports, manage databases, and collect employee-related information as requested.
  • Perform accurate HR data entry and maintain organized, current employee files.
  • Assist with managing employee benefits administration, including processing enrollments and changes.
  • Prepare disciplinary and other employment documents under HR management direction.
  • Provide general administrative support within the HR department and contribute to special projects and additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in administrative or HR roles is advantageous.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, especially time and attendance management and employee data handling, is desirable.
  • Strong organizational aptitude to handle various tasks and prioritize efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage sensitive data professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between company sites, if necessary.
