Job description
Role overview
This remote contractor position is focused on maintaining quality across HTML/CSS AI training work. As the QA lead, you will review generated frontend code as well as trainer and reviewer outputs, checking that they align with project rules, technical standards, and client expectations.
The work sits within an AI data services environment that supports large AI companies and foundation-model teams. Your contribution will help ensure training data for frontend tasks is accurate, accessible, responsive, well explained, and consistent.
This is an hourly contract role with no immediate assignment available. If you are a fit, you may be contacted first when relevant projects come up, and you may also be considered for future expert-network opportunities.
What you will do
You will assess HTML/CSS work for semantic correctness, layout logic, accessibility, responsive behavior, browser compatibility, CSS structure, maintainability, performance, formatting, and instruction compliance. The role also includes reviewing the clarity and correctness of written explanations attached to the code.
- Monitor quality by sampling items, identifying issues, sharing feedback, and escalating repeated or serious concerns.
- Review AI-generated HTML/CSS snippets, layout implementations, accessibility fixes, debugging answers, and supporting explanations.
- Communicate updates to contributors and keep them aligned with workflow changes and review standards.
- Answer questions about semantic HTML, accessibility, ARIA, CSS specificity, layout behavior, flexbox, grid, responsiveness, and browser differences.
- Manage contributor activation by following up with inactive team members and tracking availability.
- Build and maintain documentation such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding resources.
- Lead onboarding and training sessions for HTML/CSS contributors.
- Identify risky, misleading, brittle, inaccessible, or non-production-ready frontend guidance.
- Improve QA operations by spotting recurring gaps and creating scalable review processes.
What the client is looking for
You should have strong frontend markup and styling expertise, excellent English communication, and very sharp attention to detail. The work requires confidence in evaluating code against structured rubrics and giving precise written feedback.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, UX/UI, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on frontend experience.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in HTML/CSS, frontend development, web accessibility, responsive design, UI implementation, code review, QA, or technical mentoring.
- Solid knowledge of semantic HTML, forms, tables, ARIA basics, accessibility, CSS selectors, cascade and specificity, the box model, flexbox, grid, positioning, responsive layouts, media queries, animations, and modern CSS features.
- Ability to spot invalid markup, accessibility issues, poor responsiveness, layout bugs, excessive CSS complexity, specificity conflicts, browser compatibility problems, and incomplete explanations.
- Comfort with tools and workflows such as browser DevTools, Lighthouse, WCAG basics, Sass, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, CSS modules, design systems, Figma handoff, GitHub, CI/CD, and frontend build tools.
- Prior experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, frontend engineers, designers, mentors, or QA specialists is a strong advantage.
- Comfort working in fast-paced remote setups using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and project management tools.
- Strong organizational ability to manage style guides, trackers, FAQs, onboarding packs, honeypots, calibration tasks, and quality documentation.
- Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, frontend code QA, accessibility review, or rubric-based code review is a plus.
Selection process
The hiring process includes an AI interview, a domain-specific task, and a conversation with a recruiter.
Important note
There is no active project available right now. Qualified candidates may be contacted when matching opportunities arise and may also gain access to future projects through the expert network.
