Job description

Job Overview

The HSE Officer role involves assisting in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and HSE project plans to safeguard the work environment. This role emphasizes executing risk evaluations, hazard assessments, accident investigations, and delivering safety training to maintain compliance and prevent incidents on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution of HSE activities on projects, ensuring adherence to project-specific and HSEMS safety standards.
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing emergency response and evacuation procedures at field locations.
  • Conduct training sessions for workers focused on incident prevention, first aid, and safety awareness programs.
  • Identify hazardous conditions, unsafe practices daily, document observations, and recommend corrections.
  • Monitor and report violations promptly with suitable recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to evaluate and track HSE performance metrics.
  • Educate employees monthly on accident reporting and emergency response, and hold daily toolbox talks before site work deployment.
  • Ensure all employees complete mandatory site induction training prior to starting work.
  • Implement and maintain effective induction programs and daily logs for visitors, suppliers, and project personnel.
  • Guarantee that risk assessments are developed and communicated prior to each task.
  • Ensure daily inspection and monthly logging of certified mobile plant equipment, HSE gear such as harnesses, fire extinguishers, ladders, hand tools, and machinery by authorized personnel.
  • Support HSE initiatives, safety awareness campaigns, and incident management aligned with company policies and IMS standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable locally and nationally.
  • Competence in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analysis with effective mitigation planning.
  • Experience or skills in investigating workplace incidents and implementing corrective actions.
  • Capability in designing and delivering HSE training to various stakeholders to foster a culture of safety.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging management, employees, and external parties about HSE policies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP functional expertise.

Education & Eligibility

Open to fresh graduates holding a diploma in NEBOSH, Occupational Health and Safety, or related technical certifications. Candidates should be motivated to begin a career in health, safety, and environmental management within industrial or project settings.
