Role Overview
Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a prominent food manufacturing firm in Saudi Arabia seeking an HSE Officer. This role is focused on supporting the execution and oversight of health, safety, and environmental initiatives within the factory. The officer will ensure all practices comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry best standards.
Key Duties
- Establish and oversee HSE policies, procedures, and programs throughout the factory setting.
- Carry out regular safety audits, workplace inspections, and hazard identification.
- Perform risk assessments and suggest suitable mitigation strategies.
- Guarantee adherence to PPE protocols, safe work methods, lock-out/tag-out (LOTOTO), permit-to-work procedures, and other vital safety measures.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and unsafe behaviors; prepare comprehensive reports.
- Ensure prompt implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead safety briefings, inductions, training, and awareness campaigns for HSE.
- Supervise fire safety equipment, emergency readiness, evacuation drills, and related procedures.
- Oversee proper management, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous substances.
- Monitor environmental initiatives, waste handling, cleanliness, and hygiene standards within the workplace.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation including checklists, incident logs, training data, and compliance reports.
- Assist in both internal and external audits, ensuring timely corrective actions on findings.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, quality assurance, and other departments to foster a safe work environment.
- Promote ongoing enhancements in HSE metrics and cultivate a strong safety culture factory-wide.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Have 3 to 5 years of practical HSE experience, ideally in food production, FMCG, or industrial manufacturing settings.
- Preferably hold certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or comparable HSE qualifications.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of risk management, incident analysis, emergency handling, fire safety, and general safety protocols.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, HACCP, and food safety standards will be beneficial.
- Familiar with Saudi Arabia’s HSE laws and relevant industrial safety requirements.
- Exhibit strong communication, reporting, inspection, and documentation skills.
- Capable of working effectively within a factory environment and coordinating cross-functionally.
- Detail-focused, proactive, and dedicated to upholding stringent HSE norms.
