Role overview

This position supports HR and payroll operations for all Singapore business units. The role is accountable for end-to-end handling of employee and manager queries and for making sure issues are resolved efficiently across multiple communication channels.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver first-contact support and full resolution for employees and managers contacting the People Services team through live chat, ServiceNow, or email.
  • Share clear and accurate guidance on HR policies and procedures, using available knowledge management resources effectively.
  • Assist the Senior Payroll Manager with monthly payroll processing, with a strong focus on accuracy and timely completion.
  • Manage employee lifecycle transactions in Workday, including routine and complex updates, while understanding how those changes affect payroll, benefits, global mobility, and other downstream processes.
  • Complete joiner, leaver, and job-change transactions in Workday and any other required systems from start to finish.
  • Support the business with ad hoc HR and payroll-related tasks as needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders across GSK to provide strong service, including during major HR cycles such as the annual review period.
  • Use the case management system efficiently, serve as the main point of contact for each case, provide progress updates, and drive matters through to closure.
  • Ensure strict compliance with data privacy, local and global audit requirements, confidentiality obligations, and other applicable policy standards.
  • Coordinate with external vendors so that HR and payroll processes align with organisational needs.
  • Act as a contact point for local statutory authorities.
  • Take on other assignments as directed.

Required qualifications and experience

The role requires a diploma in business administration or a closely related discipline, along with at least 3 years of experience in HR, payroll, HR shared services, or data management.

A solid understanding of time and attendance processes is an added advantage. Candidates should also have experience using Workday, ServiceNow, or similar HRIS platforms, together with a clear understanding of how transactions affect benefits, payroll, and related areas.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is expected. Familiarity with legislation requirements across multiple countries supported by the hub is also important.

Additional value will be given to candidates with experience in Workday, SAP Payroll, ADP, or other large payroll systems; working with third-party payroll providers; preparing payroll journals and accruals; supporting financial close; handling payroll compliance, audits, and statutory filings; holding payroll certification or formal training; and working in multinational or matrix organisations.
