Role overview
Toyota North America is hiring an HR Generalist in Plano, Texas for a temporary 12-month contract. This position sits within the HR Shared Services team and is focused on delivering a high-touch, employee-friendly experience for team members seeking support on HR and workplace-related matters.
The hourly pay for this assignment is $25.00 to $29.63. Offered benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k).
What you will do
- Respond to employee questions promptly and professionally, with a tone that supports a positive workplace experience.
- Interpret limited or incomplete inquiries by clarifying needs in writing when necessary.
- Review and process Form I-9 documentation in line with federal employment eligibility rules, while keeping records accurate and ready for audit.
- Use careful attention to identify the correct employee group, such as job level, worker type, work location, and Toyota entity, so responses are accurate.
- Research questions by using internal team member resources and reference materials across multiple subject areas.
- Drive escalated cases toward resolution by coordinating with shared service partners and handing issues off to subject matter experts or stakeholders as needed.
- Use Workday to track, manage, and close HR inquiries and related processes efficiently with complete documentation.
Role focus
This position supports Toyota HR’s broader goal of improving how HR connects with employees through the shared services model. The work covers HR topics such as benefits, compensation, and policies, as well as general employee-support areas like facilities questions, expense reporting, and employee development.
Requirements
- Experience in customer service or an HR-related role is preferred.
- A customer-first mindset and a willingness to deliver helpful, responsive support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to balance professionalism and approachability.
- Ability to work well with people at different levels and across teams.
- High comfort level handling a fast-paced workload while maintaining accuracy and detail.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of HR systems, ideally Workday.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- High school diploma, GED, or a higher level of education.
- Work authorization limited to Green Card holders and U.S. citizens.
- No travel is required.
