Role overview
This Berlin-based HR leadership position sits at the center of a major growth and evolution phase. The role owns the people strategy, reports directly to the CFO, and helps shape organizational design, leadership capability, and culture. It requires a strong business mindset and the ability to build the structures that support long-term company performance.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a forward-looking HR strategy.
- Build and roll out performance management frameworks, including OKRs, as well as compensation and benefits structures.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, change initiatives, and team performance.
- Drive strategic workforce planning and organizational planning.
- Own core HR functions such as recruiting, employer branding, learning and development, and succession planning.
- Oversee employment law matters, with a strong focus on Germany and works council-related topics.
- Select and introduce a modern HR system such as Personio, HiBob, or Workday.
- Establish HR reporting and people analytics capabilities.
- Coordinate HR activities across international setups, including employer-of-record models and local partners.
- Lead and develop the current HR team of 3 FTE.
Profile
The ideal candidate brings extensive HR leadership experience, preferably from a SaaS or technology environment. Experience in post-merger, carve-out, or scale-up settings is important, along with a proven track record of helping shape organizational culture. Strong knowledge of German employment law, including works council regulations, and GDPR is required. The role also calls for experience in building strategic HR structures and systems, as well as working in international contexts. Strong communication skills at C-level and familiarity with OKR frameworks, HR analytics, or AI-supported HR tools are expected. German fluency at native level and business-level English are essential.
