  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee questions about eligibility, enrollment, claims, and coverage.
  • Support open enrollment activities such as system setup, employee communications, and participant assistance.

  • Help create employee-facing communications and educational materials about benefits.
  • Protect sensitive employee and company information by handling it with strict confidentiality.
  • Support benefit planning by managing timelines, processes, and communication steps through implementation.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment preparation, including system checks, testing, communication assets, audits, and HR training.

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate has strong experience with 401(k) retirement plan administration, including non-discrimination testing, and has supported or led annual 401(k) audit work and Form 5500 preparation. A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related area is preferred, though equivalent experience may also be considered. The role typically suits someone with 1 to 3 years of experience in HR, benefits administration, or a similar function. Prior exposure to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, or HIPAA compliance is helpful, as is experience working with benefit carriers, third-party administrators, and HRIS systems.
