Role overview

The HR Business Partner supports business leaders with practical, commercially minded HR advice. The position is centred on building manager capability, handling employee relations matters, and supporting effective performance management, all while keeping actions aligned with company policies and the relevant employment laws in each location.

In this role, you will act as the bridge between HR and the business, combining hands-on day-to-day support with forward-looking people planning. This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years.

What you'll do

  • Develop trusted relationships with managers and become their go-to HR partner for everyday support.
  • Advise managers on people issues, team performance, and how to improve overall effectiveness.
  • Help ensure decisions are fair, consistent, and compliant with policy and legislation.
  • Support the full performance management process, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual reviews.
  • Guide managers on performance improvement plans and situations involving underperformance.
  • Promote a consistent, high-quality approach to performance discussions.
  • Work with managers to assess team structures, capability gaps, and hiring requirements.
  • Contribute to headcount planning and the design of roles.
  • Support organisational change activity and help communicate changes smoothly.
  • Take ownership of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and investigation processes.
  • Offer clear, practical guidance that reflects local employment law and company policy.
  • Coach managers through sensitive or complex employee situations.
  • Support recruitment through workforce planning and manager consultation.
  • Partner with hiring managers to improve selection decisions.
  • Assist with onboarding and retention initiatives within the business area.
  • Make sure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently.
  • Interpret policies in line with local legal requirements.
  • Support compliance activities across jurisdictions, including contracts, process adherence, and documentation.
  • Track HR metrics such as turnover, absence, and performance outcomes.
  • Spot patterns and risks, then share insights with managers and HR leadership.
  • Help shape action plans based on data, such as engagement survey outcomes.
  • Support business-led change initiatives, including restructures and process improvements.
  • Contribute to better HR processes and ways of working.
  • Help create a positive employee experience through practical HR support.

Experience and background

  • You should bring a strong working understanding of employment law; multi-country exposure is an advantage.
  • Experience managing employee relations cases from start to finish is required.
  • You need the ability to build credible, productive relationships with managers.
  • A practical and solution-oriented approach to HR issues is important.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • You should have experience in a fast-moving, operational environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR is required.
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree is required.

Additional information
