Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated HR Assistant for our UK office on a fixed-term basis to join our expanding HR team. This position supports the delivery of excellent employee experiences and smooth people operations in a dynamic environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Uphold Universally Speaking’s core values by treating employees as individuals and customers.
- Serve as first contact for internal and external HR inquiries, handling responses competently and escalating when necessary via Outlook.
- Contribute to onboarding new hires including conducting inductions, preparing necessary assets, and verifying right to work documentation.
- Assist with general administrative and transactional HR duties related to People Operations.
- Manage time and attendance tracking and maintain accurate employee records.
- Keep electronic HR files updated and prepare contracts and offer letters.
- Maintain HR systems by recording sickness, probation, starter, and leaver details and updating employee status changes.
- Process monthly payroll adjustments accurately and timely.
- Conduct regular compliance audits to ensure adherence to policies.
- Support recruitment processes including right to work checks, references, and medical questionnaires.
- Assist the HR Operations Lead as needed and participate in ad hoc projects.
Performance Indicators
- Precise data management and audits completed on schedule.
- All routine HR and people service transactions processed within agreed service levels.
- Accurate, on-time payroll delivery with minimal errors.
- Timely completion of key projects delivering expected benefits.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in HR operations is essential.
- Familiarity with HR Information Systems and data management.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills with fluency in English.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to quality in working with data.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
- Background in administration and data entry.
- Working towards or holding a CIPD or equivalent HR qualification is desirable.
