Role overview
A respected community housing organisation is looking for two Housing Officers to support its tenancy operations in Hobart. The opportunities available are:
- 1 permanent part-time position at 0.75 FTE, working 28.5 hours per week
- 1 full-time maternity leave contract for a fixed term of 12 months
These positions suit someone who brings solid tenancy management experience together with a compassionate, service-focused approach to housing support. In this role, you will oversee an assigned housing portfolio and provide high-quality services in line with legal, regulatory and compliance obligations.
Key responsibilities
The position covers the full tenancy lifecycle and requires hands-on portfolio management, compliance awareness and effective communication with tenants and external stakeholders.

Ideal candidate
The organisation is seeking someone with proven experience in managing housing portfolios across community, public or private housing settings, along with strong knowledge of tenancy legislation and compliance. Experience dealing with complex tenancy issues, arrears, anti-social behaviour and end-of-tenancy matters will be important, as will confidence working with vulnerable or socially disadvantaged communities.
Compliance and checks
A current driver's licence is required. The successful candidate must also hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening and National Police Check.
