Job description

Overview

This is a practical, full-time housing role focused on keeping supported housing properties across Bristol safe, tidy, and welcoming. The post is permanent and is suited to someone who takes pride in hands-on work, supporting residents, and maintaining shared spaces to a good standard.

The salary for this position is £25,895.

Key duties

  • Carry out small repair tasks, flag larger maintenance problems, and help arrange contractor support where needed.
  • Keep communal spaces clean and presentable, support garden upkeep, and get vacant homes ready for incoming residents.
  • Open and secure buildings, and check empty properties for safety and condition.
  • Handle cleaning supplies and maintain straightforward, accurate records for the service.

What you’ll need

  • Practical experience or ability in gardening, cleaning, basic repair work, or decorating.
  • Previous customer-facing experience and a helpful, positive manner.
  • Confidence working with contractors and other external contacts.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and remain composed in busy or pressured situations.
  • Good people skills and a strong sense of pride in the quality of your work.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle that is suitable for work use.
  • Permission to work in the UK for the complete length of the role.

  • An enhanced DBS check will be required.

Working pattern

This is a field-based role covering Bristol. The standard working week is 37 hours. Flexible arrangements may be considered, including a job-share arrangement with a 3/2 split or part-time working.
