Role overview
Rotana Hotels is looking for a guest-oriented and energetic Housekeeping Order Taker who can support the department by managing communications efficiently and helping maintain a smooth daily workflow. The role suits someone who enjoys service excellence, thinks on their feet, and contributes practical solutions for guests and the team.
Key responsibilities
- Secure, log, and manage all keys and documents stored in the Housekeeping Office.
- Organize the day’s activity reports and keep them properly sorted within the office.
- Respond to incoming phone calls quickly and professionally, using the correct telephone etiquette.
- Note down all incoming messages and ensure they are passed on and tracked through to completion.
- Coordinate Lost & Found matters, including receiving items, documenting them, storing them safely, handling claims, and clearing records when required.
- Maintain and refresh housekeeping records and files on an ongoing basis.
- Prepare and print Opera room discrepancy reports for both morning and afternoon shifts, then share copies with Accounts and Front Office.
- Organize babysitting arrangements for guests and prepare attendance sheets for monthly payroll processing.
- Ensure the Housekeeping Office remains neat, organized, and clean at all times.
- Remove outdated reports every month in line with hotel record-retention standards.
Education, experience, and skills
Candidates should have a diploma or vocational qualification in hospitality, along with prior experience in a similar position. Strong spoken and written English is important, as are solid interpersonal skills. Computer literacy is required, and familiarity with Opera will be considered an advantage.
