Role Overview
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards, ensuring smooth daily operations, and delivering an excellent guest experience through effective leadership of the housekeeping function.
Key Duties
- Oversee the daily running of the housekeeping department so guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas consistently meet hotel standards.
- Guide, supervise, and support housekeeping supervisors and attendants to ensure high levels of cleanliness and presentation.
- Plan room-cleaning schedules and work with Front Office and other departments to keep rooms available on time.
- Carry out inspections and quality checks to track housekeeping performance.
- Manage inventory for linen, guest amenities, cleaning materials, and other housekeeping supplies.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and development of housekeeping team members.
- Address guest housekeeping requests and complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
- Ensure adherence to hotel policies as well as hygiene, health, and safety requirements.
- Prepare reports, review productivity, and assist with budgeting and expense control.
- Encourage a positive work culture and help sustain strong engagement and performance across the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong command of housekeeping processes and the ability to act as a go-to resource when needed.
- Demonstrated success in a similar position within a quality-focused environment, with clear evidence of excellent standards and team leadership.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of operational impact.
- Ambition and drive to motivate the team to consistently meet and exceed service expectations.
- Clear, practical thinking and strong communication skills.
- Solid working knowledge of PMS.
