Job description

Role overview

Woodbridge Ward is seeking a reliable, upbeat and highly motivated housekeeper to become part of the team. The post plays an important role in supporting patient care by helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming ward environment.

Key duties

You will work closely with Estates and Facilities, EME, nursing colleagues and Sodexo staff to help deliver a high standard of service. A major part of the role is keeping specified clinical equipment clean, together with the surrounding storage areas and any areas not covered by the Sodexo contract.

You will also help coordinate patient facilities across the ward, making sure the environment remains comfortable, well presented and safe. In addition, you will support the ward by monitoring stock, ensuring equipment remains in good working order, and helping to maintain cleanliness standards.

Further responsibilities

  • Make sure clinical equipment is cleaned when it is not being used by patients.
  • Identify faults, damage or maintenance needs and arrange for the required repairs or servicing.
  • Replenish equipment and supplies whenever they are needed.
  • Help create a friendly and reassuring atmosphere for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Support the monitoring of ward cleaning standards and raise any concerns with the ward sister when necessary.
