Housekeeper - Housekeeping (Full Time)

Role overview

This position is responsible for carrying out routine cleaning and disinfection work in patient care areas as well as non-clinical spaces. The role also includes disposing of waste in line with local, state, and federal rules while delivering strong service to both internal teams and external customers.

Experience

No prior experience is needed for this role.

Education

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Core duties

• Demonstrate conduct that aligns with Guthrie’s values and supports the organization’s mission and vision.
• Clean inpatient, outpatient, and office areas to maintain a sanitary and aseptic environment.
• Notify management about facility or maintenance concerns such as non-working lights, damaged walls, leaking faucets, or issues with EVS equipment.
• Escalate any regulatory or safety-related concerns to the appropriate manager.
• Keep equipment, carts, and storage closets clean, organized, safe, and stocked with the required supplies.
• Sort and dispose of waste according to applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
• Stay current with annual training obligations and take part in ongoing training to maintain knowledge of department policies and procedures.
• Attend team meetings, working groups, and committees when needed to help improve departmental processes.
• Use Epic Rovers and Vocera to support communication and help ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Help orient and train new employees in assigned areas.
