Housekeeper

Role overview

Evermore Care Homes is hiring a full-time Housekeeper for its new Astley View care home in Chorley, Lancashire. This is a days-only position with hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, totalling 29.75 hours per week on a two-week rolling rota.

The rota works as follows: Week 1 includes Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Week 2 includes Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented environment for residents and staff. The role calls for someone with a sharp eye for detail, a practical approach, and the ability to act quickly when issues arise. You will help keep bedrooms, shared areas, offices, dining rooms, and hallways in excellent condition while following cleaning standards and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all parts of the home to a high cleanliness standard in line with set cleaning procedures and timetables.
• Make sure housekeeping supplies are available across the service and notify the Head Housekeeper if anything needs replenishing.
• Spot, record, and escalate damage, defects, and other maintenance-related concerns to the Head Housekeeper and the maintenance team.

Experience and requirements

• Previous experience working in a care home environment is required.
• You should understand supervision duties, rota planning, and the basics of team management.
• Experience with stock ordering and monthly stock auditing is needed.
• A practical mindset and the ability to respond promptly to day-to-day needs are important.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high housekeeping standards are essential.

Working pattern

This role follows a two-week rolling rota with days only. Working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and the weekly hours total 29.75.

Astley View is a newly built, state-of-the-art care home in Chorley, Lancashire. The 90-bed home delivers personal, dementia, and respite care across three floors. Rooms are finished to a high standard and include modern fixtures, fittings, video calling facilities, and stylish furniture. Residents also have access to a range of activities, along with a beauty salon, ice cream parlour, and cinema room.
