About the Role
We invite you to become a valued member of the Sheraton Athlone Hotel team, part of the Hodson Bay Group, as a Hotel Day Porter. This vital position supports seamless daily hotel operations, working collaboratively across all departments to ensure guests receive exceptional service and memorable stays. You will partner closely with our management team to continuously exceed guest expectations.
Responsibilities
- Attend promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring excellent guest satisfaction at all times.
- Assist with room service duties and handle the transportation of guest luggage efficiently.
- Prepare and refresh meeting rooms as needed.
- Conduct routine safety and security inspections and participate in fire and emergency drills.
- Gain thorough knowledge of the hotel premises and surrounding area to better assist guests.
- Follow all safety protocols to keep equipment and materials secure and in proper condition.
- Report and respond appropriately to any incidents involving accidents, fires, losses, or damages.
- Maintain and promote the hotel's policies on customer relations and proactively market hotel services to guests.
- Demonstrate high levels of personal hygiene, professionalism, and appearance at all times.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Availability must include full flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, days, and evenings.
- Preferably at least one year of experience in a comparable role.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for providing excellent guest care.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledge of audiovisual equipment is advantageous.
- Resilient with the capacity to remain composed and effective under pressure.
- Physically fit and able to manage heavy lifting required by this role.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
