Role Overview
This position sits within the finance team at Mulranny Park Hotel, a 4-star coastal property in Mallaranny, County Mayo. The role is a practical, hands-on finance appointment covering the hotel’s day-to-day accounting needs while also contributing to reporting, budgeting, management accounts, and financial oversight.
Mulranny Park Hotel overlooks Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick and combines historic character with modern luxury. The property, originally established in 1897 by the Midland Great Western Railways, is located on the causeway to the Great Western Greenway and is closely tied to the Wild Atlantic Way experience. The hotel offers guest rooms, sea-view suites, and luxury lodges, with a strong emphasis on warm West of Ireland hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily income checks and reconcile cash, bank, and credit card activity.
- Handle supplier invoices, maintain the purchase ledger, and process supplier payments.
- Oversee debtor balances and manage credit control follow-up.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and control account reviews.
- Provide support for payroll tasks and Revenue submissions.
- Prepare journals and assist with monthly management accounts.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and support for the annual audit.
- Track purchasing controls and compile management information reports.
- Assist with general finance office duties whenever needed.
Candidate Profile
The ideal person will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant, or an accounting technician, with 3 to 5 years of finance experience. Background in hospitality is an advantage. The role suits someone who is comfortable working in a busy operational environment, has strong attention to detail, and can handle accounting tasks in a practical, hands-on way.
Strong Excel ability is required, along with confidence using accounting and finance systems such as Sage, Procure Wizard, Timepoint, and Guestline. Clear communication skills and a high level of integrity are also important for success in this position.
