Role Overview

The full-time, onsite Hostel Warden at GGI Khanna is entrusted with overseeing the overall management, safety, and welfare of hostel residents ensuring adherence to hostel rules, discipline, and cleanliness. Key responsibilities include supervising daily operations, managing room assignments, coordinating maintenance and housekeeping, addressing student concerns, and maintaining a positive living atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise hostel day-to-day activities ensuring compliance with rules and cleanliness standards.
  • Manage room allocation and monitor maintenance and housekeeping services.
  • Coordinate with administration and security for smooth hostel functioning.
  • Address student issues, facilitate conflict resolution, and promote an inclusive and safe environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of occupancy, incidents, and inventory.
  • Organize orientation and awareness sessions for residents.
  • Conduct regular rounds and be available to handle emergencies and after-hours support as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven skills in hostel administration, facility management, and record-keeping.
  • Competence in resident welfare, student counseling, and conflict management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with students, staff, and parents.
  • Organizational aptitude with problem-solving skills and ability to act decisively and responsibly during emergencies.
  • Basic computer knowledge for documentation, communication, and management tools.
  • Prior experience in similar roles (hostel warden, residential supervisor, student affairs) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; additional qualifications in administration, social work, or counseling are beneficial.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
