Host - TSS Earnslaw & Spirit of Queenstown (Permanent)

About the Role

Join the crew aboard Queenstown’s legendary vessels, the historic TSS Earnslaw and the Spirit of Queenstown, and be part of delivering an exceptional guest journey on and around Lake Whakatipu. As a Host, you will play a central role in creating memorable experiences by delivering outstanding food and beverage services and supporting daily boat operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in one of New Zealand’s most remarkable tourism settings.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome guests onboard and assist with boarding procedures.
• Serve food and drinks in the café, bar, and restaurant areas on the vessels.
• Assist with special events hosted aboard the vessels as needed.
• Contribute to maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the boats.
• Work effectively across both vessels and Walter Peak, with primary focus on TSS Earnslaw and Spirit of Queenstown.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum one year’s experience in food and beverage service, including bar and barista capabilities.
• Confident in engaging guests and providing consistently high-quality service.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a tight-knit team environment.
• Willingness to take on a variety of tasks from guest service to cleaning and vessel upkeep.
• Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
• Maritime experience is a welcomed advantage but not mandatory.
