Job description

Role overview

The Hospital Insurance Officer supports the revenue cycle function by handling insurance-related workflows across admissions, authorization, and billing. The position focuses on confirming coverage, securing approvals for care, and ensuring claims are prepared and submitted correctly under payer rules and internal hospital procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage patient admission workflows and check insurance eligibility as well as coverage details.
  • Secure pre-authorizations and approvals for treatments, procedures, and other medical services.
  • Act as a point of coordination between insurers, patients, physicians, and hospital teams for approval and billing requirements.
  • Compile, review, and send insurance claims with attention to accuracy and compliance with payer instructions.
  • Address insurance queries, claim denials, and billing variances promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • A background of 1 to 3 years in healthcare insurance, medical billing, admissions, revenue cycle management, or a similar area is expected.
  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Medical Records, or an equivalent discipline is required.
  • Prior exposure to hospital or healthcare settings is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of medical insurance policies, approval steps, and billing practices is an advantage.
  • Strong command of both Arabic and English is needed.
