Job description
Role overview
An opening has been created for a full-time Homefinder Officer, with the post currently located at Ty Sardis in Pontypridd. The role is based on a 37-hour working week and sits at Grade 7, offering a salary of £31,022 per year.
About the service
Homefinder is a high-volume housing service that partners with 11 Housing Associations providing social housing in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT). The service supports the letting of properties through the HomefinderRCT website and works closely with partner organisations across the area.
What the role involves
In this position, you will assess and process housing applications in line with the current Allocation Scheme. You will also work alongside Housing Associations to help them advertise and let their properties through the HomefinderRCT platform.
The post requires a strong customer focus, with an emphasis on delivering a responsive and efficient service to applicants and housing partners alike.
Knowledge and experience
The Council is looking for someone who understands housing legislation and has experience working in a housing services setting.
Safeguarding and checks
Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a fundamental duty for all Council staff. The successful candidate for this post will also need to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Application response timing
Due to the large number of applications received, individual acknowledgements are not issued. If no response is received within four weeks after the closing date, applicants should assume that their application has not been successful on this occasion.
Armed Forces commitment
In line with the Council’s voluntary pledge to support the Armed Forces, applicants who are Service Leavers, Veterans or Reservists and who meet the essential criteria should be offered an interview.
Care experienced leavers scheme
The Council also supports care experienced leavers through its corporate parenting responsibilities. This includes anyone who has spent time in the care system at any point in their life. Applications are encouraged from care experienced candidates, and those who take part in the scheme and meet the essential criteria are guaranteed an interview.
