Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
As a Home Visits Optical Assistant, you will take eye care services directly to people who cannot visit a store. The role suits someone who enjoys patient care, wants a fresh challenge, and is keen to work in a community-focused setting.
You will support vulnerable patients in their homes, helping improve their vision and overall experience through considerate, clinical care. The work is mobile and varied, with different locations and testing environments each day, so no two shifts will feel the same.
The area covered includes parts of Birmingham, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield. The team is spread across the region, and every effort will be made to place you as close to home as possible. The preferred base for this position is Stafford or the Stoke area, and the ideal candidate should live in the Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent or Wolverhampton area.
About the team
You will join a supportive and dedicated regional team delivering home eye care services to patients in their own homes.
Working pattern
This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday. Core working hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm, with flexibility required.
Compensation and benefits
The salary for this role is £26,852 per year. Benefits include a fully expensed company car, a bonus scheme, 28 days of holiday including bank holidays, an extra paid day off for your birthday, access to Specsavers Perks for everyday discounts and savings, eyecare and hearcare discounts for you and your family, and WeCare support for you and your immediate family. Training and development opportunities are also provided.
Requirements
You should have current or recent optical experience of at least 6 months to 1 year and be able to dispense confidently at all levels. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Desirable experience
Previous work in a fast-moving customer service environment and prior experience in optics would be an advantage.
