Key duties

• Carry out small to medium repair and maintenance jobs for residential and commercial properties, with assignments that may last from two hours up to two days.
• Explain needed work to customers, set clear expectations around scope and pricing, and help them understand the recommended solution.
• Deliver a strong customer experience that encourages repeat business and long-term relationships by following the company’s standard process.
• Work independently for much of the day and manage tasks without close supervision.
• Speak professionally with customers, request reviews, and handle payment collection.
• Use the necessary tools and technology to complete and record jobs properly.
• Document work in accordance with the company workflow.
• Wear the required PPE and shoe coverings to protect customers’ homes.

Requirements

• Must live in the local area.
• At least 8 years of paid handyman experience is required.
• Applicant must provide their own tools.
• Must be eligible to drive the company vehicle and be insurable.
• Background and driving-record checks are mandatory.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to work safely at heights and perform overhead tasks for long periods.
• Professional presentation and care of the company vehicle are expected.
• Hands-on expertise in at least three of the listed trade areas is expected.

Trade experience areas

• Carpentry.
• Bathroom upgrades and improvements.
• Kitchen upgrades and improvements.
• Interior and exterior painting.
• Drywall repair, both minor and major.
• General plumbing and electrical work, where permitted by law.
• Floor installation and refinishing.
• Knowledge of building codes.
