Hindi Quality Assurance Lead

About the Role

This is a remote contractor position paid on an hourly basis. The selected Hindi Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for maintaining consistency, accuracy, and reviewer quality across Hindi AI training initiatives. The role focuses on checking AI-generated Hindi content as well as trainer and QA output, then sharing clear written feedback to keep work aligned with project rules.

You will assess whether content is accurate, fluent, grammatically correct, properly spelled, culturally suitable, and faithful to the intended meaning. The position also involves checking tone, formatting, instruction adherence, and project-specific scoring rubrics. In addition, you will look for repeated quality problems, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, support onboarding, manage documentation, and help reactivate contributors who are not consistently active.

This opportunity sits within a fast-scaling AI data services company that supports training data for leading AI companies and foundation model labs. Your work will directly contribute to improving Hindi-language performance in AI systems by helping ensure the data is natural, precise, culturally appropriate, and aligned with client expectations.

There is not an immediate active project tied to this role. However, qualified candidates may be contacted first when relevant work becomes available and may also gain access to future projects through the expert network.

Selection Process

The hiring process includes three stages: an AI interview, a task tailored to the domain, and a discussion with a recruiter.

Responsibilities

• Review Hindi items, identify quality concerns, and share actionable feedback through direct messages while escalating serious or repeated issues.
• Keep trainers and QAs informed on Discord about guideline changes, workflow updates, project shifts, and quality benchmarks.
• Answer questions related to Hindi grammar, Devanagari script, register, translation accuracy, Hinglish or code-switching usage, terminology, and cultural context.
• Contact inactive contributors, encourage re-engagement, track follow-ups, and flag any availability concerns.
• Build and maintain Hindi documentation such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, and onboarding resources.
• Lead onboarding and training sessions to explain workflows, rubrics, quality expectations, and Hindi-specific standards.
• Apply Hindi language guidelines consistently across all reviewed work.
• Find recurring quality gaps and help improve QA workflows and processes.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Hindi, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a closely related field.
• Native-level or near-native Hindi ability, with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong English proficiency for understanding guidelines, communicating with teams, and giving clear feedback in English.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Hindi writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or similar language-review work.
• Solid knowledge of Hindi grammar, Devanagari script, spelling rules, punctuation, tone, formal and conversational usage, and India-specific cultural context.
• Capability to evaluate Hindi content against detailed rubrics and detect mistranslation, awkward phrasing, unnatural tone, incorrect gender or verb agreement, hallucinated statements, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Prior experience guiding or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is preferred.
• Comfort using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organization, with the ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding content, honeypots, and documentation.
• Exposure to AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a strong advantage.
