Hindi Quality Assurance Lead - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Hindi Quality Assurance Lead for a remote contract position working hourly. This role involves supervising quality, consistency, and trainer performance for Hindi AI training initiatives. The lead will review AI-created Hindi content and tasks executed by trainers and QAs to ensure adherence to project guidelines.

The lead will assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, correct grammar, spelling, tone, cultural relevance, meaning retention, instruction compliance, formatting, and rubric alignment. They will identify repeat quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QA teams, assist with onboarding processes, maintain essential documentation, and encourage consistent contributor engagement.

This position is with a rapidly growing AI Data Services firm that supplies training data to leading AI companies and foundational model labs worldwide. The quality leadership in Hindi language content will significantly enhance AI models by assuring the naturalness, accuracy, cultural appropriateness, thorough documentation, and client alignment of Hindi training datasets.

The selection includes an AI-based interview, completion of a domain-specific task, and a recruiter interview. Note that there is currently no immediate project, but qualified candidates will be prioritized for upcoming relevant opportunities and gain entry into an expert resource network.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hindi, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a similarly relevant field.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Hindi, including advanced reading and writing capabilities.
• Proficient in English to comprehend project guidelines, collaborate with teams, and deliver clear feedback.
• Has over three years of professional experience in Hindi writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or comparable language-related review workflows.
• Excellent knowledge of Hindi grammar, Devanagari script, spelling norms, punctuation, tone, style variations (formal and conversational), and culturally specific contexts within India.
• Capable of evaluating Hindi content per detailed rubrics, pinpointing issues like mistranslations, literal expressions, unnatural tone, issues with gender or verb agreement, fabricated information, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Preferably experienced in leadership or support roles managing remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
• Familiar with working on platforms such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, tracking tools, dashboards, and project management systems.
• Highly meticulous and organized, with the capacity to update style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding packs, honeypots, and maintain documentation.
• Experience in AI data training, annotation, language model evaluation, prompt/response assessment, or rubric-based quality assurance is a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct spot-checks on Hindi content to detect quality problems, provide direct feedback via private messages, and escalate critical or recurring issues appropriately.
• Keep trainers and QA teams informed through Discord about guideline updates, project modifications, workflow changes, and quality benchmarks.
• Answer queries related to Hindi grammar, Devanagari script, language registers, translation accuracy, Hinglish or code-switching, terminology usage, and cultural considerations.
• Engage inactive contributors through direct messaging to encourage participation, monitor follow-ups, and flag availability concerns.
• Create and sustain comprehensive Hindi documentation such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, and onboarding resources.
• Conduct onboarding and training sessions explaining workflows, rubrics, quality standards, and Hindi-specific expectations.
• Ensure consistent application of Hindi language guidelines across all tasks.
• Identify ongoing quality shortcomings and refine quality assurance processes accordingly.
