The role is based at either Hatch Pond Road Depot in Poole or Southcote Road Depot in Bournemouth.

Pay and progression

The starting pay is £28,598 per year, Band 5, with pro rata payment for part-time colleagues. In addition, the role includes a £100 monthly Recruitment & Retention payment. There is also an opportunity to boost earnings by taking part in the out-of-hours rota. All new starters enter at the band’s entry point, with clear progression available as experience and contribution grow.

What you will be doing

The work is focused on improving the public highway for local residents and visitors.

Experience and key attributes

The council is looking for candidates with practical experience in highways maintenance, highways construction or resurfacing, and traffic management deployment. A Class C1 or Class C driving licence is also required. You should be able to stay calm and courteous when dealing with members of the public.
