Job Description
We are looking for a Help Desk Technician with 1 to 3 years of experience to provide frontline support for end-users. The role involves managing incident tickets, resolving technical issues across Windows, macOS, and mobile devices, and delivering prompt customer service while adhering to service levels.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first-level technical assistance via phone, email, and chat.
- Record, prioritize, and track incidents and service requests in the ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot problems related to Windows, macOS, and mobile devices including connectivity and applications failures.
- Reset passwords, provision accounts, and manage access in compliance with company policies.
- Escalate complex issues to higher support tiers with comprehensive documentation.
- Update and maintain knowledge base articles and user manuals.
- Support standard IT tools such as Microsoft 365, VPN, and collaboration platforms.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient with Windows 10/11, basic macOS, and mobile operating systems support.
- Experienced using ticketing platforms like ServiceNow, Remedy, or JIRA Service Management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite including Outlook and Teams, VPN, and foundational networking concepts.
- Strong customer service aptitude with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous help desk or service desk experience ranging from 1 to 3 years.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as SCCM or Intune.
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks and working in environments guided by service level agreements.
Additional Information
The position is a contract role based in Winnipeg, Manitoba but offered remotely with a duration of approximately 8 months. Hourly compensation ranges from 19 to 20.41 Canadian dollars.
