Job description
Role Overview
The System Support GL Specialist supports the setup, upkeep, and day-to-day reliability of the General Ledger function across all payroll engines in scope. The role focuses on making sure the GL is configured correctly, processing runs smoothly, and data moves accurately between the GL and related systems.
In this position, you will work with external clients to collect the information needed for GL implementation, help maintain reporting accuracy, and ensure configuration changes are controlled and appropriate for a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain components of the General Ledger system.
- Investigate and resolve system issues connected to the GL, including payroll-related errors.
- Review GL processing to confirm accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
- Support close activities for daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end cycles.
- Work to meet project timelines and delivery commitments.
- Communicate with clients by email and phone in a prompt and professional manner.
- Help update and maintain client GL files, including missing or revised GL accounts.
- Act as a main support contact for GL incidents and service requests.
- Carry out root cause analysis for repeated configuration or processing problems.
- Log, track, prioritize, and follow through on incidents and system changes until they are resolved.
Experience and Skills
The position calls for at least 2 years of experience in supporting and configuring General Ledger systems, or comparable experience in system configuration support within a production setting. Experience with HRIS or enterprise platforms such as payroll and time & attendance is an advantage, though not mandatory. Prior exposure to supporting U.S.-based customers is also preferred but not required.
Strong client-handling abilities, excellent verbal and written communication, and the capacity to work independently are essential. The ideal candidate should be highly detail-oriented and comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, writing clear documentation, and balancing several priorities in a fast-moving support environment.
