Job description

Role overview

This position leads the helium business for the Asia Pacific region across both bulk and packaged channels, with responsibility for helping the business achieve and surpass regional and global performance goals.

Key accountabilities

  • Own the commercial performance of the helium portfolio by driving profitable growth across the operating segment and associated business units.
  • Act as part of the global helium leadership group to coordinate strategy and day-to-day priorities across sourcing, product management, logistics, engineering, and market development.
  • Work closely with regional marketing and product management leaders to ensure global and local plans, targets, and actions are aligned.
  • Create, track, and improve sales, pricing, and profitability KPIs at both business unit and operating segment level.
  • Assist with sales, business development, budgeting, and forecasting by providing input on volume, price, and cost assumptions.
  • Coordinate with global product management and supply chain teams to improve regional supply-demand planning.
  • Set and roll out regional helium pricing, surcharges, and product allocation decisions while supporting implementation of global commercial, engineering, and operational initiatives.
  • Support the operations function with helium cryofill business oversight, technical reviews, and optimization of transfill activities, including productivity improvements and loss prevention efforts.
  • Review market movements and competitor actions across the region and adjust plans to improve profitability.
  • Handle and analyze large datasets to support financial evaluation and process enhancement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or business is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • More than 10 years of experience in helium or industrial gases, with exposure to business development, sales, or account management at regional or global scale.
  • Strong knowledge of helium market segments and end uses such as semiconductor, optical fiber, MRI, and lifting applications is preferred.
  • Well-developed strategic, execution, analytical, and numerical abilities.
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills.
  • Advanced capability with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • High attention to detail, along with strong project management and follow-through skills.
  • Prepared to travel 20% to 40% of the time.
  • Must be physically able to sit, stand, walk, and handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and meet close-vision and color-vision requirements.
