Heavy Duty Porter - Casino Public Space

About the Role

As a key member of our team, your primary responsibility is to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of public and staff areas at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol. You will perform deep cleaning tasks using designated cleaning products and equipment to maintain an attractive environment that enhances guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere encouraging guests to choose Hard Rock Bristol for entertainment, while mentoring fellow team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Identify and report any maintenance issues, property damage, or safety hazards promptly.
• Maintain security of designated areas including keys, supplies, and equipment.
• Collaborate with EVS Supervisors to deep clean various surfaces such as carpets, upholstery, tile, wood, marble, concrete, and outdoor areas.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, gum and stain removal, and repositioning furniture post-cleaning.
• Support specialized cleaning activities like stripping, waxing, carpet restoration, pressure washing, buffing, polishing, and marble restoration.
• Operate powered cleaning machinery including walk-behind scrubbers, ride-on scrubbers, buffers, and carpet extractors.
• Assist with general cleaning duties such as trash removal, restroom and gaming area upkeep, emergency cleanups, and provide coverage during absences.
• Participate actively in team meetings and perform consistently in assigned duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Typically requires two months of on-the-job training or equivalent janitorial experience.
• Must obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications as per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery regulations.
• Successful completion of background check and drug screening is mandatory.
• Minimum age requirement is 21 years.
• Availability to work holidays, weekends, flexible shifts, and potentially unusual hours.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Competence in handling powered cleaning equipment and potentially hazardous chemicals safely, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and coworkers.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this role is $15 to $21.
