Heart of House Specialist (Steward)

Role Overview

The Heart of House Specialist supports essential hotel operations by keeping food and beverage, kitchen, laundry, and related back-of-house areas clean, organized, and ready for service. The role focuses on maintaining hygiene standards, handling cleaning equipment safely, and helping different departments work smoothly together.

Key Duties

• Carry out cleaning tasks across hotel departments such as kitchens, food and beverage areas, and laundry.
• Prepare and maintain clean linen and spotless dining items for guest use.
• Operate and care for cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand-wash stations, linen washers, and dryers.
• Move dishware and linens between hotel areas as needed.
• Follow company procedures, safety rules, and quality standards at all times.
• Maintain a professional appearance, uniform, and communication style.
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
• Support team goals and respond appropriately to concerns from co-workers.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly to management.
• Perform physical duties that may include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, stooping, and standing or walking for long periods.
• Complete additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

This position does not require a high school diploma or GED, and no prior work experience or supervisory background is needed. No license or certification is required.
