About the Role
MaximaTek is seeking a meticulous Health Informatics Analyst willing to contribute to their healthcare technology team based in California. This full-time opportunity is tailored for early career individuals or recent graduates passionate about healthcare IT, data analytics, and optimizing health informatics systems.
Primary Duties
- Analyze healthcare datasets to uncover trends that enhance patient outcomes.
- Assist with the deployment, upkeep, and enhancement of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Work collaboratively with clinical, technical, and administrative personnel to improve healthcare workflows.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visual data representations for key stakeholders.
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support data validation, quality control processes, and system testing efforts.
- Document workflows, business requirements, and proposed system improvements thoroughly.
- Provide training and support to end-users of healthcare applications.
- Monitor EHR system functionality and troubleshoot data-related issues as needed.
- Stay informed about the latest healthcare technology standards and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Fundamental knowledge of Health Informatics and Healthcare Information Systems.
- Experience or familiarity with EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
- Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel along with data analysis methodologies.
- Understanding of healthcare data standards including HL7, FHIR, and ICD-10.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA and related healthcare compliance rules.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and effective communication skills.
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
- Adeptness at teamwork in dynamic healthcare settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields such as Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Public Health.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in Health Informatics, Healthcare IT, Data Analysis, or related disciplines.
- Certifications such as Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) are desirable but not mandatory.
