Role Overview
The Healthcare Revenue Specialist is responsible for managing patient billing processes, reconciling insurance payments, and accurately posting financial transactions related to healthcare services.
Primary Duties
- Ensure the accuracy of billing data and prepare invoices for submission.
- Address billing-related inquiries and communicate with patients and insurance providers.
- Submit insurance claims and post payments efficiently.
- Investigate and resolve claim denials by working with relevant parties.
- Review patient medical records to confirm billing accuracy.
- Handle delinquent accounts and interpret insurance benefits.
- Assist in managing referrals and obtaining authorizations.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support accounts receivable processes and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Provide administrative assistance and foster positive patient relations.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and perform other assigned tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience.
- At least two years of experience working within the healthcare revenue cycle.
- Familiarity with insurance payment processing, CPT and ICD coding.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic coursework in medical terminology.
- Experience with Epic or SIS healthcare information systems.
- Knowledge of billing procedures specific to ambulatory surgery centers.

- Ability to multitask and manage various responsibilities simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Expertise in record-keeping and familiarity with medical billing practices.
