About the Company

Circadia is a leading commercial furnishings firm serving clients across the United States. The company designs spaces that are engaging, inspiring, and closely aligned with each client’s goals. Its customer base includes small businesses, Fortune 500 organizations, and projects in healthcare, education, government, and hospitality. Circadia emphasizes outstanding client service and a strong workplace culture for its team.

Role Overview

The Healthcare Interior Designer will lead interior design work for healthcare projects from early concept development through installation. This position calls for deep knowledge of healthcare planning, infection prevention, patient and staff movement, evidence-based design, and product specification with key manufacturer partners. The designer will collaborate with sales, project managers, clinicians, architects, and vendors to develop spaces that are practical, compliant, and aligned with brand goals while supporting better patient experiences and smoother operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create furniture plans, product specifications, finish selections, and coordinated documentation needed for ordering and installation.
  • Specify furniture, seating, systems, and architectural products, and work with sales and sales support teams to prepare accurate pricing and specifications.
  • Design solutions that satisfy healthcare regulations, ADA requirements, infection control standards, life safety rules, and HIPAA privacy needs.
  • Use Circadia templates to build client presentations, renderings, and 2D visuals that clearly communicate design direction.
  • Work alongside architects, engineers, clinical stakeholders, and contractors to resolve design and construction challenges.
  • Assist with post-occupancy reviews, replacement or follow-up orders, and space reconfigurations.
  • Stay current on healthcare design trends, evidence-based design research, and new healthcare product developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.
  • At least 5 years of professional interior design experience, including a minimum of 3 years focused on healthcare projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with CET Designer, Bluebeam, SketchUp, and Revit is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare codes, ADA, infection control practices, and evidence-based design standards.
  • Experience specifying and documenting furniture systems, seating, casegoods, and finishes; familiarity with Steelcase product lines is strongly preferred.
  • NCIDQ, LEED, WELL, EDAC, or similar credentials are an advantage but not mandatory.

Required Skills

  • Strong client communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to translate clinical requirements into design solutions
  • Project coordination and cross-functional collaboration
  • Advanced time management and prioritization
  • High attention to detail
  • Multiple project management
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Positive, engaging professional demeanor
  • Comfort working primarily onsite

Performance Expectations

  • Maintain strong utilization and billable design hours.
  • Deliver accurate design work on schedule.
  • Contribute to client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Demonstrate Circadia’s core values in day-to-day work.
  • Participate in person in regular meetings, weekly rep presentations, and routine team collaboration.

Working Relationships

This role reports to the Director of Design. Regular collaboration is expected with Circadia team members across sales, project management, sales support, installation, flooring, construction, accounting, and leadership. The designer will also work with manufacturer partners, client-side contacts such as project managers, procurement, HR, IT, and leadership teams, as well as architects, engineers, designers, and corporate real estate professionals.
