Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner organization, which will handle all applications and subsequent hiring steps. The employer is seeking an HR Manager with healthcare experience to work from the United States.

The role is ideal for an experienced HR generalist who wants a mix of strategic partnership and practical execution. You will lead people operations in a growing business where employee experience, compliance, and strong operational systems matter. The position includes ownership of the employee lifecycle, support for managers, talent acquisition, benefits administration, and the development of scalable HR practices that can grow with the organization.

Core accountabilities

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end employee journey, covering hiring, onboarding, employee relations, performance support, and exits.
  • Maintain multi-state HR compliance, follow employment law requirements, and keep employee files complete, accurate, and ready for audits.
  • Run payroll end to end through HRIS tools while ensuring correctness and compliance.
  • Lead hiring activities from writing job descriptions and finding candidates to selection and onboarding.
  • Manage employee benefits and create programs that improve engagement, retention, and professional growth.
  • Work with managers to advise on performance management, workplace policies, and day-to-day HR guidance.
  • Build and refine HR processes that can scale as the company expands and operates more efficiently.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a broad-based HR generalist role.
  • Good knowledge of California and Arizona employment law.
  • Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort using HRIS systems; experience with Rippling is a definite advantage.
  • Background in a startup or high-growth business is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on professional experience.
  • HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP would be a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and people skills, plus the ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
  • Must be available to work full-time during Pacific Time business hours.

Benefits

  • Annual compensation between $65,000 and $75,000.
  • Health insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off.
  • Remote-first setup with flexible work arrangements.
  • Exposure to leadership and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a growing company.
  • A collaborative environment that supports employee development.
