Role overview
Oceania is hiring a Healthcare Assistant to work at Gracelands in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. The role is focused on helping residents live with dignity, comfort, and a genuine sense of connection each day. What you'll do
- Deliver personal care while protecting each resident’s dignity, privacy, and comfort.
- Assist with everyday needs such as hygiene, mobility, eating, and drinking.
- Notice changes in residents’ physical or emotional wellbeing and raise concerns when needed.
- Develop kind, respectful relationships with residents and their families/whānau.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and welcoming setting that supports independence and wellbeing.
- Work from individual care plans and coordinate closely with Registered Nurses to provide consistent care.
- Communicate in a clear, considerate manner with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Follow health, safety, and infection control procedures carefully to keep everyone safe.
What we're looking for
- At least 1 year of experience in caregiving, aged care, or a comparable support role.
- A caring, patient, and respectful manner when supporting older adults.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to safe, dignified, resident-centred care.
- Willingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends and night shifts.
