Role overview
We are hiring a Healthcare Assistant to support residents at Eden Village in Auckland. This position suits someone who genuinely values compassion, respect, and meaningful care, and who wants to contribute to a team that places residents’ wellbeing first.
What the role involves
You will help residents maintain comfort, independence, and dignity through considerate, person-focused support. The job centers on building trust, encouraging wellbeing, and helping create a calm and caring atmosphere where residents feel heard and respected.
- Deliver hands-on personal care while protecting each resident’s privacy, dignity, and comfort
- Assist with everyday needs including washing, mobility, meals, fluids, and general wellbeing
- Notice changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition and report concerns to the appropriate people
- Develop kind and respectful connections with residents and their families/whānau
- Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment that supports health and independence
- Work in line with individual care plans and collaborate closely with Registered Nurses to provide consistent care
- Communicate in a clear, calm, and compassionate way with residents, families, and colleagues
- Follow health, safety, and infection prevention practices carefully to help protect everyone
What you should bring
We are looking for someone with at least one year of experience in caregiving, aged care, or a similar setting. You should be patient, kind, and respectful, with strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. A commitment to safe, dignity-led, resident-centred care is essential. The role also requires flexibility for a rotating roster, which may include weekends and night shifts.
