Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Health & Wellbeing Screener to join our heart screening team based in the Nelson region. This contract position offers up to 30 hours per week with no late-night shifts and public holidays off. You will operate mainly from home, travelling to nearby pharmacies to deliver cardiovascular health screenings using our portable CardiAction Heart & Artery Screening Service.

About the Company

Health Screening NZ offers the CardiAction screening service, a globally recognized initiative that detects early signs of cardiovascular disease. Serving community pharmacies, we provide vital 20-minute appointments involving pulse wave analysis tests, result explanations, and personalized lifestyle advice to help reduce cardiovascular risk.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is forward-thinking, empathetic, and motivated by preventative healthcare. You are committed to enhancing client wellbeing through non-judgmental, educational lifestyle guidance. Self-driven, you are open to travel and ready to contribute meaningfully to our mission of making affordable, accessible healthcare available to all New Zealanders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver CardiAction screening services at partner pharmacies within your local area and possibly beyond.
  • Maximize community engagement by offering flexible working hours to screen as many people as possible.
  • Complete all required medical and operational training to uphold service quality.
  • Organize and manage appointments efficiently using booking systems and support marketing initiatives.
  • Introduce innovative marketing and workflow strategies to enhance business operations.
  • Provide support for screenings at additional venues such as workplaces as needed.
  • Collaborate with management and pharmacy hosts to potentially expand or introduce new services to maximize service utility during designated hours.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Healthcare background preferred, including experience in natural health retail; nursing experience is an advantage.
  • Possession of professional indemnity insurance.
  • High standards of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Community work experience with cultural competence and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust and customer loyalty.
  • Proficiency with various IT platforms such as patient databases, email, and video conferencing tools.
  • Eligibility for the role requires New Zealand residency or a valid work permit.
  • Full New Zealand driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to screening locations.

Benefits and Work Conditions

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A collaborative, supportive, and encouraging work environment.
  • Competitive remuneration package with additional incentives based on outstanding client feedback.
  • Flexible working hours with school-hour options.
  • Potential career progression to Team Leader roles.
  • Maximum 30 hours per week commitment with negotiated schedules.
