Job description
Role Overview
Enatel is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to enhance and lead health, safety, wellbeing, and risk management efforts across its international operations in New Zealand and the United States. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this pivotal role collaborates with senior leadership to promote a culture of safety accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement, ultimately driving optimal health and safety outcomes aligned with business growth.
Key Duties
- Steer health, safety, wellbeing, and risk management programs throughout multiple operational regions.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to fortify critical risk oversight and ensure operational safety ownership.
- Deliver expert advice, coaching, and assurance across the organization.
- Ensure compliance through incident investigation, learning, and enhancement processes.
- Enhance organizational competence via improved systems, targeted training, and active workforce engagement.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of five years’ experience in senior advisory or managerial roles related to Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
- Background in manufacturing, engineering, or environments involving substantial operational hazards.
- Proficient understanding of critical risk management practices and health & safety frameworks.
- Effective experience influencing senior management and providing credible risk-centered counsel.
- Adept at interpreting data, spotting trends, and communicating actionable safety insights to leadership.
- Demonstrated skill in preparing health and safety performance reports for executive teams.
- Familiarity with New Zealand health and safety legal requirements; knowledge of US operations is beneficial.
- Track record in leading incident investigations to facilitate preventative organizational learning.
- Capability in coaching and developing staff to cultivate health and safety competence and engagement.
- Possession of relevant qualifications in Health & Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or related fields.
