Health Safety Environment Supervisor

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Supervisor to join our infrastructure project based in Jeddah. The selected individual will oversee all HSE activities on site, ensuring adherence to company policies, client stipulations, and Saudi regulations. The role involves fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all HSE operations across the project site.
• Lead the on-site HSE team and oversee daily safety performance metrics.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal HSE procedures, client expectations, and regulations of Saudi Arabia.
• Conduct daily inspections to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Develop and evaluate Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analyses, and Method Statements.
• Carry out toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness initiatives.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; apply corrective and preventive measures.
• Supervise subcontractors for adherence to HSE standards.
• Implement and monitor the Permit to Work system effectively.
• Prepare comprehensive HSE documentation, including reports, statistics, and KPI analyses.
• Collaborate with project management to guarantee safe execution of construction activities.
• Facilitate internal and external HSE audits and ensure prompt resolution of any findings.
• Encourage a robust safety culture and ongoing enhancements across the project.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
• At least 5 years’ experience in HSE roles within infrastructure construction projects.
• Demonstrated track record as an HSE Supervisor or Senior HSE Officer.
• Solid expertise in infrastructure sectors including roads, utilities, earthworks, drainage, and civil engineering works.
• Thorough knowledge of Saudi Arabian HSE regulations along with international safety standards.

Mandatory Certifications

• NEBOSH International General Certificate
• IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Certificate

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 30-Hour in Construction
• ISO 45001 Internal or Lead Auditor
• Incident Investigation
• Risk Assessment/Hazard Identification/Job Safety Analysis Training
• First Aid and CPR Training
• Fire Safety and Fire Warden Qualifications
