Health Safety Environment Officer

Role Overview

The Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer is responsible for independently managing all HSE activities within their designated project or work zone, ensuring a secure workplace environment in compliance with local safety standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Take complete accountability for the HSE management of assigned projects or zones.
• Develop detailed Risk Assessments and Safe Work Procedures, and lead daily, engaging Toolbox Talks (TBT) to reinforce workplace safety.
• Maintain comprehensive HSE documentation, registers, and records, guaranteeing strict adherence to local statutory guidelines.
• Promote and sustain a robust safety culture across a multicultural workforce, ensuring strict enforcement of safety protocols.
• Demonstrate flexibility by accommodating extended working hours, including weekends or shifts as project demands require.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering from any discipline.
• NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory; possession of NEBOSH Level 6 is strongly preferred.
• Registration as an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Practitioner is advantageous.
• Possess between 3 to 5 years of substantial hands-on construction experience within the UAE.
• Experience working on projects for clients such as TAQA and the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) is preferred.
• Have thorough and practical knowledge of the ADOSH-SF framework and compliance requirements.
• Currently reside within the UAE and be ready to attend an in-person interview in Abu Dhabi.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of leading and collaborating effectively with diverse multicultural teams.
