About the Role
Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF), a subsidiary of Ali & Sons Holding LLC, is a prominent provider of engineering, fabrication, and ship repair services within the oil & gas and marine industries. We are looking for a dedicated and safety-conscious Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer to support an offshore project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring all operations adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of safety throughout the project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and company standards for all on-site and offshore tasks.
- Perform regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to detect hazards and ensure corrective measures are executed timely.
- Guarantee compliance with UAE legislation, client stipulations, and international HSE norms.
- Investigate any incidents, accidents, or near misses, compiling detailed reports including corrective and preventive recommendations.
- Conduct safety orientations, toolbox discussions, and awareness training sessions for staff and contractors.
- Oversee proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe working methods.
- Maintain comprehensive HSE documentation, reports, and records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, supervisors, and management on all matters concerning health, safety, and environment.
- Drive continuous improvements in safety practices and awareness across the organization.
- Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and the execution of preventative strategies.
- Ensure environmental regulations are followed, including proper waste disposal and pollution control measures.
- Perform any other tasks delegated by the HSE or Project Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Diploma or Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Have between 4 to 6 years of hands-on HSE experience within offshore, marine, fabrication, or oil & gas sectors.
- Preferably hold NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certifications.
- Must have ADNOC approval to qualify.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of UAE HSE laws and international safety standards.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of identifying hazards and implementing effective control strategies.
- Proficient with MS Office tools and HSE reporting systems.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
