Role Overview
Maas Group - JLE Electrical is looking for a seasoned Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator to support its growing team on a full-time basis. This role offers exposure to renewable energy, civil construction, and infrastructure projects, with the chance to influence safety outcomes, contribute to business growth, and help shape workplace culture.
Based in either Newcastle or Dubbo, the HSE Coordinator will play a central role in strengthening health, safety, and environmental compliance across the business. The position is practical and field-based, working closely with managers, project leaders, and engineers in a fast-paced environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Travel frequently across Sydney, Dubbo, Orange, Newcastle, and other regional sites as needed to support WHSE obligations for different business units.
- Create, roll out, and maintain WHSE policies, procedures, and programs.
- Carry out site walkthroughs, audits, and risk reviews.
- Facilitate WHSE training sessions, toolbox meetings, and safety inductions.
- Take the lead on incident investigations and support ongoing improvement efforts.
- Monitor compliance with environmental rules and keep safety records accurate and up to date.
- Support business units with WHSE reporting and corrective action documentation.
- Assist with internal audit management for major projects, including preparing and submitting required materials to clients under contract obligations.
Working Style
This is a practical, hands-on role where you will be actively supporting operational teams and helping build a strong zero-harm culture across the workforce.

Candidate Profile
- Formal qualifications in health and safety or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in Work Health, Safety & Environment, ideally in project-based work.
- Background in electrical, mining, or construction settings will be considered an advantage.
- Experience working with a Level 1 Accredited Service Provider is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of Australian WHSE legislation, risk management, incident investigations, and safety management systems.
- Exposure to internal and external audit processes.
- Experience with integrated management systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- ICAM training.
- A commitment to zero harm and a proactive approach to workplace safety.
- Willingness to travel, plus a valid car licence and White Card.
