Role Overview
The Health Safety Environment professional will take charge of planning and implementing health and safety controls, reviewing workplace safety conditions, and ensuring adherence to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements. The position also involves running safety awareness sessions, encouraging strong occupational health practices, and tracking how effectively safety guidelines are being followed. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Vagra.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and oversee health, safety, and environment practices across the workplace.
- Evaluate safety conditions and identify risks in the work environment.
- Ensure alignment with EHS rules, safety standards, and compliance expectations.
- Plan and conduct safety training sessions and share safe work practices.
- Support the development of a workplace culture focused on occupational health.
- Monitor implementation of safety procedures and policies on an ongoing basis.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve overall safety performance.
Requirements
- Sound understanding of health and safety principles and workplace safety controls.
- Prior experience in occupational health and EHS management.
- Ability to deliver safety training and explain best practices clearly.
- Good knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with teams across functions.
- Preferred: certification in EHS or occupational health and safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
