As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role at our Schenectady and Mechanicville manufacturing sites in New York by ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and state/local safety regulations by managing incident reporting and accurate recordkeeping.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve health and safety policies, procedures, and preventive programs.
- Serve as the primary contact during safety inspections and audits, coordinating preparation activities and post-audit follow-up.
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, performing root cause analyses and overseeing the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, safety audits, and hazard analyses across both manufacturing locations.
- Analyze safety data and trends to identify risk patterns and proactively recommend improvements to minimize hazards.
- Monitor and report on safety performance indicators, including both leading and lagging metrics, to drive accountability.
Candidate Profile
- Between three to five years of professional experience in occupational health and safety within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and capability to commute daily between the two sites.
- Experience managing safety programs, conducting audits and investigations, and utilizing compliance systems effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite, with strong skills in Excel for data reporting and safety tracking.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP, analytical tools like Power BI, or dedicated safety tracking software (e.g., Conformit) is advantageous.
