Health & Safety Coordinator

Role overview

Denison Mines Corp. is looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to help run and strengthen health and safety programs at project sites. Reporting to the Health, Safety & Radiation Lead, this person will partner with employees, contractors, and site leaders to reinforce safe work habits, support compliance requirements, and help build a strong safety-first culture.

This is a rotational, site-based position located in Northern Saskatchewan.

Key responsibilities

• Manage health and safety onboarding, site orientations, training coordination, and certification tracking for employees and contractors.
• Carry out workplace inspections, audits, risk reviews, and field-level safety observations.
• Assist with emergency response planning, preparedness exercises, and drill activities.
• Take part in incident investigations and monitor follow-through on corrective actions.
• Keep safety documentation, records, and performance data accurate and up to date.
• Coach employees and contractors on safe work methods and practical safety expectations.
• Help roll out new and improved health and safety procedures, programs, and initiatives.
• Support compliance with company standards as well as applicable regulatory obligations.

Required background

• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, or an equivalent professional safety certification.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a health and safety position, ideally in mining, construction, or another industrial setting.
• Solid understanding of occupational health and safety laws, standards, and accepted practices.
• Hands-on experience with inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Experience arranging safety training, orientations, and certification monitoring.
• Strong communication, organization, and people skills.
• Comfort using MS Office and health and safety management systems.
• Ability to work independently while balancing several priorities in a changing environment.
• Clear commitment to encouraging and maintaining a positive safety culture.
