About the Role

Join a fully remote, flexible contract opportunity where your public health background helps improve how AI systems answer health-related questions. The work supports leading AI research teams in producing guidance that is accurate, evidence-based, and aligned with ethical standards.

This position is intended for professionals with master’s-level public health training who can use their subject knowledge to strengthen the quality, reasoning, and fairness of AI outputs.

Role Details

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Engagement type: Hourly contract
  • Work arrangement: Remote
  • Weekly commitment: 10 to 40 hours per week

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building challenging public health scenarios, including outbreak simulations, health equity case studies, and clinical trial data interpretation, to test AI reasoning.
  • Creating high-quality reference answers based on peer-reviewed studies, epidemiological evidence, and guidance from respected public health bodies such as the CDC and WHO.
  • Reviewing AI-generated health advice and policy suggestions for factual accuracy, bias, consistency, and ethical soundness.
  • Providing structured expert feedback that helps models better explain risk, separate correlation from causation, and communicate appropriately to different communities.

Who Should Apply

  • Applicants should hold an MPH, MSPH, or a closely related graduate qualification.
  • Candidates need a solid foundation in at least two of the following areas: epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, or health policy.
  • Ability to turn complex health information into clear, practical, and culturally aware written communication is important.
  • Strong attention to detail is needed when checking statistical significance, citations, and intervention logic.
  • This role suits self-directed professionals who are comfortable working independently in an asynchronous setting.
  • No previous AI experience is necessary.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with data annotation, quality review, or evaluation workflows is advantageous.
  • Hands-on familiarity with tools such as R, SAS, or Stata is a plus.
  • Exposure to health communication, clinical research coordination, or public health surveillance is beneficial.

Why This Role May Appeal to You

  • Opportunity to contribute to impactful AI work with leading research labs and teams.
  • Remote flexibility with the ability to choose your own schedule within the stated weekly hours.
  • Independent freelance-style engagement with meaningful intellectual challenge and public health impact.
  • Direct involvement with advanced large language models.
  • Potential for contract renewals and broader project participation over time.
  • The chance to help shape AI that handles public health information responsibly.
