Opportunity Overview

We are creating a talent pool of skilled, mid-career health communications professionals interested in future project management roles supporting federal public health initiatives. This listing is not for an immediate vacancy but to identify candidates for upcoming needs as they arise.

Potential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead or assist in multifaceted health communication efforts, such as public health education and awareness campaigns.
  • Develop strategic communications plans tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Conduct audience research and craft effective messaging.
  • Manage content creation, creative design, digital outreach, and related activities.
  • Engage and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate work across internal teams, external partners, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities and assignments will vary depending on specific project circumstances.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • Approximately 5 to 8 years of pertinent experience in health, public health, or social impact communications.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, integrated communication projects and campaigns.
  • Strong skills in fostering trusted client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Competency in handling project scope, scheduling, budgets, deliverables, and balancing competing demands.
  • Leadership of cross-functional teams encompassing strategy, content, creative, digital, research, and outreach.
  • Ability to convert client needs into clear, actionable plans and recommendations.
  • Experience supporting federal government clients, especially within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is especially valuable.

Why Work with Us

At Altarum, you will be part of a collaborative, mission-driven organization dedicated to communications that advance public health and community well-being. We value collaboration, curiosity, adaptability, and meaningful work. This role provides a chance to contribute your expertise toward impactful initiatives that matter.

Application Process and Additional Information

After reviewing your background, our Talent Acquisition team may contact you if a fit is identified for current or forthcoming opportunities. Please note these opportunities depend on evolving client needs, contract awards, and funding; therefore, there may not be a vacancy or timeline at the time of your application.

We recommend also searching for and applying to specific current openings matching your profile. Joining this pipeline does not automatically enter you into other vacancies.
